Chemical Laboratory Technician helps engineers and scientists develop, test, and research chemical processes and products.

Primary responsibilities

• Sets up and conduct chemical experiments, tests and analysis in laboratories.
• Help scientists and engineers in researching, developing and producing chemical products and processes.
• Perform tests on products to make sure that they meet standards and specifications.
• Set up, maintain, clean and sterilize laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Observe and conduct chemical experiments, tests and analyses..
• Work under the supervision of chemists or chemical engineers.
• Carrying out routine tasks accurately and following strict methodologies to carry out analyses;
• Ensuring the laboratory is well-stocked and resourced;
• Following and ensuring strict safe y procedures and safe y checks.
• Providing and maintaining a safe work environment
• Maintaining, cleaning or sterilizing lab instruments and equipment
• Writes technical reports or prepares graphs and charts to document experimental results.
• Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish everything needed for the job objective.
• Prepare chemical solutions for products and processes following standardized formulas or create experimental formulas.

Preferred Skills

• Must have the ability to compile, code, categorize, calculate, tabulate, audits or verifies information or data from the compounds that he has just recently tested.
• Must inspect equipment, structures or materials to identify the cause of any errors or other problems or defects associated with the tests that were run. The findings then must be also included in his report or a secondary report might be made to accompany the original report of findings.
• Must use scientific rules and methods to solve problems and come to conclusions from the tests that he has made.

Requirements

• BS Degree and above in only Chemistry
• Previous experience working in a laboratory environment
• Must have some Chemical Lab experience
• Attention to detail.
